We accept many types of CAD and Vector file formats. The most common are: .ai, .dwg, .dxf, and .3dm.
We need a digital drawing to be able to process your order. Our lasers translate that drawing into motion. The laser follows your lines either etching or cutting the material of your choice. If you do not have a vector file, we’re happy to help you make one, though it does speed up the process if the files are ready. We have two laser cutters, one can cut sheets that are 18″ x 32″ or smaller, the other can accommodate sheets up to 24″ x 48″ Check to make sure your project will fit in that space.
Please Clearly label your files. Take into consideration which patterns will be cut on what material. Labeling your sheets within the files also helps us keep track of the cutting. Be sure we can distinguish which lines will be cut, and which ones will be etched. Use the graphic below to organize your lines by color.
RGB Colors for Laser Cutting & Engraving
In order for the laser cutter to determine which setting to use for which lines, we use a color code with specific RGB color values. If you are using your own color code, please be sure to let us know which color is meant to do what, or change it to adhere to ours.
